Ryzen 7000 Non-X

It is now confirmed that AMD will launch at least 3 different SKUs from the Ryzen 7000 non-X family. These are the Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700, and the Ryzen 5 7600. As expected all 3 CPUs feature a base TDP of just 65W. Furthermore, there are no changes in the core/thread counts compared to their X counterparts.  Apart from the specifications, this slide also showcases AMD’s pricing strategy for these CPUs, which is as follows:

Ryzen 9 7900 | $429 vs $549 (X Variant)Ryzen 7 7700 | $329 vs $399 (X Variant)Ryzen 5 7600 | $229 vs $299 (X Variant)

AMD has also confirmed a few of Intel’s upcoming CPUs namely, the i9-13900, i7-13700, and i5-13600. The Ryzen 7000 Non-X lineup will directly compete against the aforementioned Intel CPUs.

Release Date

AMD will unveil these upcoming CPUs at CES 2023. Videocardz states that the embargo will be lifted on January 9, 2023, so we should expect the announcement a few days prior (CES). In any case, these CPUs are going to be a massive roadblock for Intel, however, team blue still has the platform advantage. For AMD, there is an elephant in the room and that is expensive AM5 boards and DDR5 memory prices.  The only way to alleviate this problem would be to launch the budget A620 boards but they are nowhere in sight, at least for CES.
