Like the Dimensity 9000+, even the Dimensity 9200 SoC is manufactured on TSMC’s 4nm node. But the newer chip does have some improvements, mainly in the form of newer and faster ARM cores, a significantly faster GPU and more connectivity options, including support for WiFi 7. Dimensity 9200 uses a tri-cluster design, with a 1+3+4 core configuration.

The Dimensity 9200 is also the fist SoC to feature the Cortex-X3 performance core, which according to ARM is 25% percent faster than its predecessor, the Cortex-X2.  – 2nd Generation TSMC 4nm-class Packed with industry firsts, this chip powers a new era of flagship smartphones. • 1st Arm Cortex-X3 and Cortex-A715 • 1st LPDDR5X-8533, with 13% more bandwidth • 1st UFS 4.0 + MCQ-fastest-ever smartphone storage. • TSMC N4P + MediaTek-optimized IC design All this translates to a 12% improvement in single-core performance, and about a 10% improvement in multi-core performance over the Dimensity 9000 SoC. That’s not all, Mediatek also claims the newer faster chip also consumes 25% less power than the Dimensity 9000. Graphics performance has improved even more significantly using Arm’s new Immortalis-G715 GPU. According to MediaTek the new SoC features a 32% improvement in graphics performance, along with 41% reduction in power consumption when compared to the Dimensity 9000. There’s also support for LPDDR5X RAM (upto 8533Mbps), along with UFS 4.0 storage.  Coming to the camera, the new MediaTek Dimensity 9200 features the new Imagiq 890 ISP. In a first, there’s also support for RGBW camera sensors, helping deliver more brightness and detail in photos.  MediaTek didn’t provide an exact launch timeline, but did state that initial phones with the Dimensity 9200 should be coming out by the end of this year. leading Al-ISP architecture. • 1st RGBW sensor native support for 30% brighter captures • Second-Gen Al-Video Engine with APU+ISP fusion • Capture and stream HDR video from multiple cameras • Up to 12.5% power savings for 8K30 video with EIS • Fastest Al-NR photo capture
