The Logitech G Cloud Gaming Handheld earlier this morning, according to a press release from Logitech. The Logitech G has a similar physical shape to the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, thanks to its 1080p HD screen, built-in controllers, and 12-hour battery. And although those platforms may natively download and play games, the Logitech G has been designed to support various game streaming services, particularly with games accessible via Xbox Game Pass. The handheld’s internal components include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage via microSD. The CPU may be a few generations old, but considering the modest demand cloud gaming places on a device, we’re hopeful it still functions well. The G Cloud only supports WiFi 5 for wireless communication. WiFi 6 support would have been excellent, given the crucial latency and internet bandwidth for cloud gaming. The G Cloud from Logitech runs Android 11 with the Google Play Store already set up for specific offline gaming. Logitech has optimized this device’s Android operating system to appear slick and provide rapid access to your preferred cloud gaming provider. The Logitech G Cloud is an intriguing first move toward cloud gaming as far as gaming handhelds go. While devices like the Steam Deck support wireless gaming, gamers may want a cloud-focused device. However, the G Cloud is expensive, costing $349. The pre-order price for Logitech’s gaming handheld is $299, which is a bit cheaper if you would like to wait. Although it would be difficult to justify at that price, we’re nevertheless interested to see how it performs as a stand-alone cloud device.
