As Henderson reveals further in his report, the game will have a “big focus on cooperative play“. To that end, Dambuster is introducing 5-6 completely new characters in Dead Island 2. The first Dead Island game too had a well crafted Co-op mode where players could choose from 4 character options. Further, sources add, the game like the original installment will take place in multiple locations including Hollywood and San Francisco. Better news yet, Henderson’s sources also reveal that the game is in a “decent state of development“. With one source after playing the game, claimed, Dead Island 2 could be their most anticipated game. There’s no news on a release date yet, but Deep Silver’s parent company, the Embracer Group reported in a 2022 financial call that they expect the game to release by the next financial year, which ends on March 31st, 2023.
