Your passion and continued support leave us speechless 💛 Thank you, Chooms! pic.twitter.com/wJjqS5CMd5 — Cyberpunk 2077 (@CyberpunkGame) October 19, 2022 CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 has had 1 million daily active players for four weeks in a row, marking a significant uptick in the game’s popularity. The developers expressed their gratitude to the community and assured them that 2023 will see the release of a truly worthwhile expansion for the game.  Prior to its arrival in late 2020, this vast open-world action-adventure game was one of the most eagerly awaited titles. Its development took almost ten years. Despite its excitement, the game’s release was met with widespread backlash from players due to a large number of bugs. Consistent updates to the game have been released by CD Projekt Red ever since it was first released, and those efforts are beginning to bear fruit. Over the course of the past month, Cyberpunk has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity across a variety of platforms, with player counts reaching parity with those seen during the game’s launch. Fans believe that the recent success of Cyberpunk 2077 may be traced back to the announcement of Phantom Liberty DLC and the Netflix animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. We expect to see the Phantom Liberty DLC for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2023. It will expand Night City by introducing additional places and people for the protagonist to interact with.  According to the lead level designer, Miles Tost, such news is incredibly encouraging for the team right now because they are putting all of their passion and work “to deliver a kickass expansion” for the fans at some point in 2023. The director of Quest, Pawe Sasko, who had previously fought back tears while discussing the game’s revival on a livestream, reacted fairly strongly to the newest news as well.
